The Complete Works of TANIYAMA Yutaka,1994
The Complete Works of TANIYAMA Yutaka,1994
The Complete Works of TANIYAMA Yutaka, Revised Edition, 1994 always shows me the youth of the post-war mathematics in Japan. At the same time It gave me the feeling of strong longing.
When A. Wiles and R. Taylor finally solved the Fermat’s Last Theorem in 1994, TANIYAMA-SHIMURA Conjecture became famous overnight in Japan too. After the situation was settled a matter, I saw the feature articles on TANIYAMA in the journal, Mathematics Seminar at the bookshop nearby of my home.
My first impression was a longing desire to his high achievement to mathematics or studies in history. At those days I was at the midst of age 40s and did not accomplish anything on my field of language. Of course I did not desire any fame or special situation. I only hope from the bottom of my heart to propose the results that let assent to myself.
Nearly 20 years passed away since those days. Now there is not any enviable thing to TANIYAMA or his colleague. Because I also discovered my aim and approach on my theme. It is absolutely same that I have not proposed anything to the learning. I only have the probably same aim that many surpassed people had or have. Merely I have not any genius to learning.
My true tiny happiness is what I am still learning on my objects every day. It is only one that is language forever.

My first computer. 2020
My first computer
I first had my personal computer in 1987. The computer was Sharp’s X1 which used 8-bit microprocessor Zilog Z80 which was sold from 1976. The operating system was CP/M and storage media was 8-inch floppy disc that capacity was 175 kB at 1972 – 500 kB at 1976.

Publishing Revolution
Read Pamela Pfiffner’s
INSIDE THE PUBLISHING REVOLUTION : THE ADOBE STORY, 2003
INSIDE THE PUBLISHING REVOLUTION : THE ADOBE STORY, 2003
From 1982 – 1984: Laying the Foundation / The Early YearsWhen Geschke met Warnock in 1978, the two felt an instant rapport. But over lunch they also discovered they had similar experiences and shared values.
From BizStats: 1982John Warnock and Chuck Geschke found Adobe Systems with $2.5 million in seed money from Hambrecht & Quist.
Thus publishing revolution has started by the two. If there be not this revolution, probably my representation to the public will not be done as smooth as now. Because my concepts on language are rather strange and the road to cultivate is so hard to open to the wider world.

At that time printer was dot-printer and only can be printed out alphabet, figures and Japanese Katakana (the square form of Japanese syllabary). In those days I read a book on the printing-out from computers published by a authority of Japanese technology.
I clearly remembered the impression on the book in which the author asserted that printing out the Chinese characters were impossible for the figural complexity of the letters. Oh how fast the impossibility has been reversed. Warnock and Gaschke has accomplished the revolution on publication or more wider on human’s representation to the world. Really fantastic and infinite thanks for the two respectable persons and the successors after the two.

The energy of language seems to be one of the most fundamental themes for the further step-up study on language at the present for me. But the theme was hard to put on the mathematical description. Now I present some preparatory papers written so far.

Nikon F3 and Nikkor 50mm F1.2. Memory of 1980s
Nikon F3 and Nikkor 50mm F1.2. Memory of 1980s
Some 40 years ago, age 30s, I had used Nikon F3, which was rather heavy and its shutter sound was very fine, many people loved the sound, Kashz.
Lens were Nikkor 50mm F1.2, very bright one and I pressed the shutter till twilight. I loved the natural sunlight of black-white film.
I took many photos using it, at Kyoto and Nara, especially Nara was the very place I frequently visited, Todaiji Temple was my favourite, calm and beautiful in winter. Persimmons in the close all became clear orange in the cold air.
Nara is called 1000-year capital in Japan, historically between A. D.710 and 784, Nara was the capital of Japan and the real centre of politics, culture and art, especially of Buddhism.

The Time of WANG Guowei Revised Edition. 2011-2020
The Time of WANG Guowei Revised Edition
The Time of WANG Guowei
I learned the language study from CHINO Eiichi at Tokyo in 1970s.
He taught me the Linguistic Circle of Prague and the existence of KARCEVSKIJ Sergej.
He taught me the Linguistic Circle of Prague and the existence of KARCEVSKIJ Sergej.
One day he admonished me not to study the hard problems such as language universals that are the themes worked on by the geniuses like WITTGENSTEIN Ludwig.
But I chose the theme probably by my youth.
But I chose the theme probably by my youth.
For long time I kept thinking on language universals being aided from KARCEVSKIJ’s paper, “Du dualisme asymétrique du signe linguistique“.
I roamed the vast field of language, wondering the streets of Tokyo.
The time passed fast.
CHINO suddenly died by the fatal disease in 2002.

CHINO suddenly died by the fatal disease in 2002.
I wrote the original note on language universals at Hakuba, Nagano in March 2003.
This note was fundamental at that time for me but probably much conceptualised to others, to which I entitled ” On Time Property Inherent in Characters“.
It was written about the written language of ancient Chinese characters inscribed on tortoise shells.

WANG Guowei was the pioneer scholar on that field.
I had liked his papers that were almost contained in his most important work, “Guantangjilin“.
I bought the book at Kanda, Tokyo in the early 1970s.
The bookshop name was “Haifeng Shudian”, that are now removed to Chiba Prefecture.

Oh how many times I went to this shop and bought the Chinese classics.
Qing Dynasty produced many linguistic scholars who almost all researched the Chinese characters for their scholastic basis.
I also liked ZHANG Binglin, DUAN Yucai, WANG Niansun, WANG Yinzhi and so on.

In my first note I quoted WANG Guowei and DUAN Yucai.
They are the precursors of the study of language universals for the prime of life.
The study was traditionally called “Small study” in China.
But I could not remain standing at the excessive conceptualised place influenced from Small study.

The second note was “Quantum Theory for Language“, that were also written at Hakuba in August 2003.
The third note was “Distance Theory“.
In the early stage of my research, “distance” was one of the important concepts for language universals.
The concept was inevitably related with time and space.
So I began to think the themes on Language universals based on mathematics that were another prime time theme of my youth.

Nikon F3, Nikkor 50mm F 1.2 from Papa Wonderful 17 Photo. 1999
Mr. Tadokoro almost always brought his camera with him when visiting Nara. Nikon F3, lens is Nikkor 50mm F 1.2. Now, it doesn’t seem to be in the catalog anymore, but since it’s a very bright lens, I always shot without a flash. When I visited Daigoji Temple with my teacher, when the teacher turned his back to me at the reception and told the people in the area to visit, Mr. Tadokoro saw him standing in the light of a naked light bulb. I put it in the camera. I clearly remember that composition for nearly twenty years. It’s one of the few photographs that Tadokoro has captured in my heart.

Tadokoro especially liked winter Nara. The place where Mr. Tadokoro often stayed was cheap at lodging, but I didn't have dinner, so when I returned from the outside, I took a rest and went out for a meal. While listening to the voice of a warabimochi shop who sells and sells in a unique tone, "Warabimochi," Tadokoro looks back on the results of his or her own study that day and day, and one day his thoughts move to his own way of life. It went. Even though it's on the western outskirts of Tokyo, when I left my busy life for a while and put myself in the division of Nara, a millennial unit, I suddenly felt the feeling of being in oblivion.

As many people think, when you go up the steep stairs of Muro-ji Temple and face the Buddha statues, Tadokoro-san, as many people think, has a fleeting reason for his life compared to the length of existence of these Buddha statues. I had a vague idea of where I could be positioned. Nevertheless, Mr. Tadokoro was able to continue studying history thanks to Professor Yamano, who taught him about history. Perhaps to the skepticism that akin to the abyss of anyone on the way to life, the teacher acknowledged such skepticism and pointed out a way to walk slowly. At an old coffee shop in Nara, where the bottom of February chills, the teacher talks about visiting the shop for a long time, but he does not talk about academics anymore, and he drinks hot coffee to tire of the day.

Photographs are silent but sometimes remind people to recall their entire memory. Some years after that time in Nara, Tadokoro has taken pictures of Tae-san and two children. My older brother Takahiko went to high school, and my younger brother Yasuhiko was already in the final year of elementary school. Looking at the view of Yasuhiko-kun's support at the athletic meet in the town in the viewfinder in this way, the life of a person is, of course, not as good as a single camera, not to mention a Buddhist image that exists for 1000 years. I think so. But it's never discouraged. It's my simple thought.
